Dubai, 4 febbraio 2017 – Marcel Kittel (Quick-Step piani) ha vinto la quarta edizione del Dubai Tour, attraversando il traguardo per primo in Dubai City Walk in uno sprint di gruppo, dopo 124 km di corsa. Sul podio ha ricevuto il cerchio di stelle, trofeo del vincitore, da HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Secondi dopo l’arrivo di tappa, un vittorioso Marcel Kittel ha detto: “Sono estremamente orgoglioso di quello che ho fatto oggi: il mio secondo Dubai Tour complessiva di fila, la mia vittoria in carriera 75 … quando sono tornato a Dubai, ho pensato che questo è una bella gara, è un obiettivo per me, ma non pensavo che sarebbe andata così bene. La squadra ha fatto davvero un dio lavoro. E ‘un modo molto piacevole per iniziare la stagione. E ‘stata una tappa breve, dopo la cancellazione di fase 4 e abbiamo cercato di controllare la gara fin dall’inizio. La fuga non era troppo grande così è andata molto bene per noi. Alla fine, non è andata esattamente secondo il piano, perché la catena di Fabio Sabatini caduto. Doveva essere il mio ultimo uomo portare fuori, così ho dovuto andare da solo, ma alla fine sono stato ben posizionato, così ho potuto fare il mio sprint come volevo “.

Dubai, 4 February 2017 – Marcel Kittel (Quick-Step Floors) has won the fourth edition of the Dubai Tour, crossing the finish line first in the Dubai City Walk in a bunch sprint, after 124km of racing. On the podium he received the Circle of Stars, the winner’s trophy, from H.H. Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Seconds after the stage finish, a victorious Marcel Kittel said: “I’m extremely proud of what I achieved today: my second Dubai Tour overall in a row, my 75th career victory… When I came back to Dubai, I thought this is a nice race, it’s a goal for me, but I didn’t think it would go so well. The team did a really god job. It’s a very nice way to start the season. It was a short stage after the cancellation of stage 4 and we tried to control the race from the very beginning. The breakaway wasn’t too big so it went very well for us. At the end, it didn’t go exactly according to the plan because Fabio Sabatini’s chain fell off. He was supposed to be my last lead out man, so I had to go by myself but at the end I was well positioned, so I could do my sprint as I wanted to.”
